This story is a downer, to say the least. It follows the main character James, or Jim, as he recounts all of the good, and often bad times, he had with his twin brother David. Something has happened to David to spur on this recollection, though it isn't clear what has happened until later in the book.
The main character's narration focuses largely on his sense of angst, confusion, and frustration as he begins college away from home. There's the rocky relationship with his girlfriend, the growing distance between himself and his twin brother, and his dwindling sense of direction in life. It takes on a very melancholy tone right from the beginning, and only goes further down into the depths of the main character's woe and heartache as the story moves along. It drags on a bit in the middle of the story, but everything meshes well in the end for a few great, poetic and emotional scenes.
I did notice a few formatting errors, specifically with how new line indents seemed to be of inconsistent length at times. I purchased this book on kindle a year before reading, so it is possible the author has since updated the ebook to correct this.
